CONFERENCE CHECKLIST

  • Packing: The Opening Session, President’s Reception, and general conference attire will be business casual attire. However, the banquet attire for Tuesday night is “jean casual.” Wednesday, February 14th is School Spirit Day so please wear something that promotes the school you work for or attended. In addition, do not forget your business cards to drop-off at the vendor booths for a chance to win great prizes.
  • Travel: Directions and local transportation options are available under the “Travel Information” link on the Conference Mini Site.
  • Parking: Valet Parking is available for a fee of $20 per day. Self-parking is available in hotel parking structure is available for $5.00 day. Additional parking is available in the area for approximately $5.00 per day.
  • Registration: Don’t forget, you may pre-register for the conference online. The Registration area will be located in the Fisk Foyer located on the Second floor of the Renaissance Hotel.
    • Early check-in will be Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 for pre-registered attendees only.
    • Registration and Check-in normal hours of operation
      • Sunday, 8:00 am to 4:45 pm
      • Monday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm*
      • Tuesday, 8:00 am to 11:30am
        *Note that registration will be closed for the general session.
  • Elections: SASFAA officer elections will be held during the conference. Please retrieve your SASFAA password for online voting.
  • Community Service Project: Help Katie’s Helping Hand make the lives of families of children who have to be admitted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital a little bit easier. How can SASFAA members help? By contributing $5 you can provide a meal for a parent of a sick child. If SASFAA attendees contribute $5 each, we can provide $3,000 or 600 meals.
  • Internet Access: You will have access to a computer lab to check your e-mail and browse the Internet. Each guest room also has wireless service available for a daily charge.
  • President’s Reception: The President’s Reception will be held on Sunday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm and will be followed by an evening of dance instruction with a little Latin flare. Come meet and greet your SASFAA colleagues.
  • Banquet: Will be held on Tuesday, February 13th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. This will be a casual country style event, so the attire is “jean casual.”
  • Nash-Vegas: Will be held on Tuesday, February 13th immediately following the banquet from 9:00 – 11:30pm. Test your gaming skills, dance a little or a lot… Maybe win a prize…
  • New Aid Officer’s Pre-Conference Workshop: On Sunday, February 11th from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm learn the basics of Financial Aid. When registering, please check the box showing you are interested in attending this workshop. If you have any questions, please e-mail Sandy Neel at sneel@utm.edu.
  • Pre-conference Seminar for Experienced Professionals: Will be held on Sunday, February 11th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Details about the seminar can be found under the “Pre-conference Seminar” link on the Conference Mini Site. Registrants must bring their own laptop with wireless capabilities. Registration will be limited to the first 50 participants.
