PRESIDENT'S WELCOME

Dear Colleagues (I’ve always wanted to say that) –

If that brings to mind federal regulations, policies & procedures, and a host of other thoughts about how to do your job better, then mark your calendars to join us at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City, VA, February 17-20, 2008, for SASFAA’s 45th Annual Conference!

Brad Barnett and the rest of the conference committee have put together an outstanding program that will benefit any level of experience.  Come prepared to learn, speak out, reminisce, laugh, and network.  We have an outstanding array of concurrent sessions, as well as general sessions that will provide current updates on federal and NASFAA issues of concern.  In addition, pre-conference workshops are being planned for the New Aid Officer, the State Presidents-elect, and Treasurers/Treasurers-elect/Treasurer-wannabes, as well as a half-day Legislative Symposium on Communicating With and Influencing Legislators. 

In addition, we have special plans for throughout the conference to celebrate SASFAA’s rich heritage during this anniversary year, starting with recognition of past SASFAA Presidents during the Opening Session and a wonderful historical event immediately following.

This year’s conference offers a unique opportunity to incorporate a more legislative slant because of our location, but will continue to provide the high quality of sessions and speakers our members expect.  So, make your reservations early (so you can enjoy a little of DC while you are there) and then come with a thirst for knowledge.  I look forward to seeing you in February!
