Helping Students Get Financially Fit Online

Looking for online tools to help your students keep their personal finances in shape? Mapping-Your-Future’s 10 Steps to Financial Fitness can help them to learn how to manage their money and get advise about:

  1. understanding the student loan process;
  2. repaying a student loan and knowing what to do if they run into trouble;
  3. managing their finances and taking a simple test to see if their finances are out of control;
  4. leaning how to balance a checkbook online;
  5. establishing a budget and sticking to it;
  6. building a savings plan and making wise investments;
  7. using credit cards wisely to establish a credit rating and avoid financial problems;
  8. requesting a credit report and understanding how
    to read it;
  1. cleaning up their credit and avoiding bankruptcy; and
  2. finding other Web sites for more financial fitness
    information.

NSLP helped to develop 10 Steps to Financial Fitness as an effective money management resource for students. Students can also use NSLP’s Financial Management Tools to find budget calculators, money management advise and helpful information about repaying student loans.
