President-Elect President-elect Gets Busy As President-elect, I have spend most of my time sneaking peeks over Ron’s shoulder and absorbing all the wonderful things he is accomplishing as your SASFAA president. Acting as his able-bodied assistant, I have assumed the fun task of visiting several states for their fall association meetings. In October I will be visiting VASFAA in Richmond and GASFAA in lovely Lake Lanier. Thanks to Sherwin Hibbets and Lenora Jackson for their assistance and making me fell so welcome. At the national level, I will be sitting in on the NASFAA Board meeting coming up in the SASFAA region in Florida. This will be in November immediately following the SASFAA board meeting. As a member of the “peanut gallery,” I am excited about attending and learning about all the activities and issues that occur on a national level. Along with attending board meetings, I am also invited to attend a regional board meeting as the SASFAA representative. Those plans have not been solidified yet, but it looks like I may be attending the WASFAA meeting in Portland, Oregon. Also in November I, will be attending my own NCASFAA fall meeting in Greensboro and presenting the SASFAA update on the last day of the conference. Many thanks to Bruce Blackmon for his invitation. Currently, I am working on a subcommittee that our SASFAA President created to formalize our site selection process for the annual conference, new aid officers workshop, intermediate aid officers workshop, board meetings and various other committee meetings. As we grow so does the entire scope of securing sites for the association. This will assist future site selection committees when they are looking into different hotels and states for meetings. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
