Report from the Site Selection Committee

The work of the Site Selection Committee resulted in contracts being signed with the Nashville Renaissance Hotel and the Nashville Convention Center for the 2007 Annual Meeting of SASFAA. The specific dates will be February 11-14, 2007.

The Site Selection Subcommittee developed new facilities checklists to be incorporated into the Policy and Procedures Manual. The checklists include facilities for the Annual Meeting, the New Aid Officer’s Workshop, the Management Institute, the Executive Board meetings, the Transition Board meeting, committee meetings and the Mid-Level Workshop.

SASFAA Congratulates Members Elected to NASFAA Office

The Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators extends congratulations to several of its members recently elected to NASFAA office.

David Gelinas, National Chair Elect, and will serve as National Chair for 2005-2006. David is a SASFAA Past President and Director of Financial Aid, University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.

Karen Fooks, Representative-at-Large to the Board of Directors (3 year term), Position 4. Karen is a SASFAA Past President and is Director of Student Financial Affairs at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.

Robert “Bob” Godfrey, Associate Director, Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, was elected to the Nominations and Elections Committee for a two year term.
