Report from the Budget and Finance Committee Jane McNaughton, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee for 2003-2004, will conclude her two-year term on June 30, 2004. At the June 2004 Transitional Board Meeting, Jane will present other investment opportunities to the Board that are authorized for consideration as part of SASFAA’s long- term investment strategy. After discussion at the February 2004 Board Meeting about alternate investment instruments, Jane is working with Jim Mills of SunTrust Bank, SASFAA’s investment advisor, to compile a list for Board consideration as alternative investments for the two certificates of deposit which mature in June 2004. Jane would like to thank the SASFAA Board for the opportunity to work with and serve the membership of SASFAA for the past two years. She would also like to thank Terry Bland of MOHELA, Terri Parchment of EdAmerica and Dave Cecil of Transylvania University for serving on the Budget and Finance Committee for 2003-2004. A special thanks also goes to Lester McKenzie, SASFAA Treasurer for 2003-2003, for his unending work for the membership of SASFAA. Karen Koonce will assume the Budget and Finance chair position on July 1, 2004. |
