Florida State Report (FASFAA)

The following is a synopsis of the current status of FASFAA and upcoming events.

  • Due to the devastating effect of numerous hurricanes upon the State of Florida in the past 2 months, and the impact that they have caused upon the families, students, and institutions in our state, it was determined by a unanimous vote of the FASFAAExecutive Board to cancel the Fall 2004 conference scheduled for November 10-12 at the Hilton SanDestin.. Hotel agreed to hold FASFAA harmless.
  • Regional Workshops begin November 12 and will continue through December. Workshops will be geared to focus on topics that would normally have been covered by a conference.
  • 2-day mini conferences will be held in January for New Aid Officers and Clock Hour schools.
  • Spring Conference scheduled for June8-10 Miami Beach Fontainebleau Hilton Resort.
  • DOE Conflicting Information training December 8, 2004 Valencia Community College.
  • Participating on College Goal Sunday’s steering committee in Florida.

FASFAA 2005 Spring Conference
“Staying The Course Through Winds of Change”

The Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators would like to announce their 2005 Spring

Conference at the famous Fontainebleau Hilton Resort on Miami Beach. The conference will be held from June 8-10, 2005. Conference hotel rates are a low $129 (plus applicable taxes) for a single or double standard room. Upgrades are available at equally low prices for this world-class resort, right on the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel will honor the conference rate from June 4-12, 2005. There are lots of family activities at the hotel and in the immediate Miami area.
