NSLP Awards Cash for Class™ to SASFAA Schools
By Brenda Paganelli, National Student Loan Program

NSLP selected Old Dominion University and Mercer University School of Law to receive Cash for Class scholarship funds at the SASFAA conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

NSLP doubled the amount it awards through Cash for Class, which means two schools from each financial aid region will receive $1,000 to help their students pay college expenses. The schools decide how to award the funds to their students.

"NSLP’s Cash for Class will help our students achieve their educational goals,” said Patricia Hinton, Associate Director for Counseling Services and Special Programs at Old Dominion University. “We commend NSLP for supporting our students and investing in their futures!”

"Cash for Class will enhance our school’s public interest scholarship,” said Kim H. Stroup, Director of Financial Aid and Assistant Director of Admissions at Mercer University School of Law. “The money will provide loan forgiveness opportunities to students who work for nonprofit organizations.”

In addition to Cash for Class, NSLP helps students pay for college through a $5,000 donation to EducationQuest Foundation’s Reaching Your Potential scholarship program. This program provides renewable, need-based scholarships to Nebraskans who overcome obstacles to attend college.
