There are many exciting training activities available for SASFAA members this year.

February 12, 2006, New Aid Officers One-Day Training at the SASFAA Annual Conference in Greensboro, NC. This day of training will be held in the conference hotel starting at 8am, Sunday, February 12, 2006 and ending at 3:15 pm. There is no charge for this day. Participants sign-up as part of the conference registration. Participants should plan on arriving in Greensboro, NC Saturday night, February 11, 2006 so that they are ready to go Sunday morning.

June 18 – 23, 2006 (Sunday through Friday) New Aid Officers Summer Workshop will be held on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville in Asheville, NC. Detailed information on this event can be found on the SASFAA Website under "Training".

June 25 – 27, 2006 (Sunday through Tuesday) Mid-Level Financial Aid Officers Workshop, jointly sponsored by SASFAA and SWASFAA, The Mid-Level Workshop will be held at Furman University in Greenville, SC. More information will be available soon on the SASFAA Website under "Training".

Report from the Treasurer

The SASFAA 990 report has been submitted to the IRS for filing for our 2004-2005 records. SASFAA and the Executive Board certainly thank and appreciate Anne Rochester, edamerica, for her assistance with this task.

Treasurer Boutell is looking forward to a whole new influx of mail as conference registration payments start to come in. Stay tuned to www.sasfaa.org for conference information and to register for the Annual Conference. Remember—all registration is completed on-line. Credit card information will be accepted on-site in Greensboro, NC. After attending the conference committee meeting, Treasurer Boutell certainly commends the group for working to provide an exciting, and quality conference.

The Policies and Procedures Manual is currently being reviewed by a committee to recommend updates. If you have any concerns about current practices, please contact Treasurer Boutell or Clark Aldridge to share your comments. The group will meet at the Annual Conference in Greensboro, NC for recommendations to the Board.

As the holidays approach, SASFAA members should give thanks for friendship, family, and the fellowship of colleagues. Treasurer Boutell appreciates the many relationships of SASFAA, and looks forward to working with all of you in 2006!
