WINTER 2006

Candidate for SASFAA President-Elect
Freida J. Jones

Candidate Statement
It is truly an honor to be nominated for the office of President-Elect. I am thankful for the opportunity. It was a pleasure to serve SASFAA as Vice President and, if elected, I will serve SASFAA to the best of my abilities as President-Elect.

SASFAA is known for its attention to training. This really should be our primary focus as we develop new and innovative ways of accomplishing our goals. A couple of ways I was involved are the New Aid Officers’ and Midlevel Workshops. During my tenure as Vice President, the most rewarding time spent was the preparation for and putting on these workshops with lots and lots of help from others.

While training is our primary focus for our membership, the Board has its challenges managing all other facets of the Association. Serving on the SASFAA Board is an experience in and of itself. A lot of good people work very hard to do right by the membership. A recent survey was just undertaken and will be analyzed and compiled. From this document, better ways of managing and serving the membership will be realized. Should you elect me as your SASFAA President-Elect, I will work diligently with the current president to assist him in accomplishing his goals and the goals of the Association, while establishing my goals for the upcoming year using the tools such as the survey and the strategic plan.

I thank the Nominations and Elections Committee for the opportunity of being a candidate for President-Elect.
