WINTER 2006

Candidate for SASFAA Vice President
Sandy Neel

Candidate Statement
It is such an honor to be nominated for the SASFAA Vice President position. Several years ago, I had the opportunity to attend the New Aid Officers Workshop and gained not only Financial Aid knowledge, but some life-long friends. Three years ago, I was very fortunate to be asked to be an instructor for the New Aid Officers Workshop, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional career.

Putting together quality training for new members and experienced aid professionals can be a challenge. I am ready to step up to the plate and accept that challenge. I have had the good fortune of being afforded the opportunity to serve SASFAA in several capacities and feel this is the next step for me. This position will allow me to share my love of financial aid with new aid professionals and hopefully assist in developing new leaders for SASFAA. This is what it is all about!

Being a member of SASFAA has provided me with the opportunity to build lasting friendships, to gain knowledge to assist me professionally, and to develop leadership skills. I want to continue to give back to this SASFAA what SASFAA has given to me!
