Site Selection Committee Report

Due to the Hurricane Katrina disaster and its impact on Mississippi, it was agreed that Site Selection would focus its efforts on South Carolina for the 2009 February annual meeting. As there was not a single facility that could house the sleeping rooms and meeting space requirements, the Myrtle Beach Sheraton Convention Center was approved by the Executive Board as the location for the 2009 conference. Additional sleeping rooms have been obtained at the Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express, which are located nearby. Shuttle service will be available at no costs; however, some may choose to walk if the weather is favorable.

The location adjoins “Broadway at the Beach”, which contains numerous shops, restaurants and entertainment for after hours. The actual conference dates will be February 7-11, 2009. Mark your calendars!

The newsletter editor would like to thank each elected board member, state president, committee chair and liaisons for the invaluable assistance given this year. Also thanks to those individuals not on the board and/or serving as chairs of

committees for the submission of articles for publication.

The editor would also like to thank President Guy Gibbs for his invaluable guidance and assistance during the year and for inviting her to serve as newsletter editor.
