Discussion of PJ in the era of PPY
9:00AM - 3:00PM, February 11, 2018

This session will use NASFAA materials to provide the attendee with a comprehensive review of the concept of professional judgment.  Join us for an examination of the guiding principles for the use of professional judgment. We will explore its impact on student eligibility and financial assistance and provide illustration through case studies and examples.  This portion of the session, taught by credentialed instructors Sandy Neel, Zita Barree and Stephanie Lawrence, will allow you to sit for the NASFAA credential exam for Professional Judgment.

The afternoon portion of the workshop will include examples of how implementation of prior-prior year (PPY) has impacted school’s use of PJ. This will be an interactive session, with examples from a variety of school types.  This in-depth discussion will address the pros and cons of differing school policies for the use of Professional Judgment.
