Are you are interested in obtaining personal and practical skills associated with being a good leader? If so, we have the event for you! This symposium, utilizing a solid core of faculty, will explore what it takes to be an effective leader as well as the responsibilities that go along with it.
Good leadership requires a certain level of managerial skills. We will explore developing your individual leadership style, and then expanding your circle of leadership farther in your institution and association -- highlighting practical applications for planning and goal-setting, building a winning team, and conducting effective meetings.
Esteemed and experienced SASFAA members, Rachelle Feldman (University of North Carolina), Francisco Valines (Florida International), Marian Dill (Lee University), Sharon Oliver (North Carolina Central), Daniel Barkowitz (Valencia College) and Sarah Baumhoff (Kennesaw State), will serve as leaders and presenters for the workshop.
This will be a very interactive symposium and will require some reading and a strength finder exam prior to the actual event, so registration is limited to ensure maximum connection between the attendees and staff. Recognizing your busy schedule with work, family and life balance the symposium has been conveniently scheduled over seven Friday afternoons from November 6th through the SASFAA conference in February.
The symposium is geared towards people who are currently in leadership positions, as well as those striving to be in a position of leadership. Whether you want to improve your skills to be an effective leader within a financial aid office, financial aid association, or other office, this interactive symposium will provide you with the tools necessary to take your skills to the next level.
Registration is $125, and membership is required to register. Zoom link will be provided prior to the start of the event.
