This webinar will help your understand your options, encourage you to be creative, and not to be afraid to try new approaches. Presenter(s) Lakisha Sanders, Morehouse College Somnath Chatterjee, Florida State University Moderator(s): Brenda Brown, College Aid Services Presenter'(s) Biography(ies): Lakisha Sanders Lakisha Sanders has been working in financial aid for over 20 years. She earned her Bachelor degrees in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and Information Technology from Georgia Southern University. Lakisha is always focused on learning daily, innovation, and transformation, which is why she will obtain her Master degree in Strategic Leadership and Development this Fall semester from Clayton State University. Lakisha gained financial aid experience from being a financial aid student and by working for private 4 year institutions, public 4 year institutions, 2 year institutions, and consulting for various colleges throughout the United States. These schools include and are not limited to Georgetown University, Chattanooga State Community College, Savannah College of Art and Design, Clark Atlanta University, Fort Valley State University, Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Clayton State University, University of Memphis, Baylor University, and Morehouse College. She worked her way up from a Financial Aid Advisor to Assistant Vice President of Financial Aid to a Senior Financial Aid Consultant. For Lakisha it is an honor to work in financial aid to serve students. She is a volunteer speaker for the Next Step Education Foundation programs and workshops, which has been a commitment starting 3 years ago to educate high school students from freshman to seniors on how to prepare financially for college. Lakisha enjoys serving the financial aid college community and is honored to be the 2020-2021 GASFAA Past President and SASFAA Webinar Co-Chair. Som Chatterjee Som Chatterjee serves as the Director of Financial Aid at Florida State University. He has spent over 20 years in financial aid and started his financial aid career in the technology area - he has spent the last 16 years in the business office. His passion, like most of us here, is to assist students in their higher education dreams, one student, at a time. He strongly believes that the insight of financial aid administrators can be best harnessed through technology to serve the evolving needs of our students . Som has an MBA in Marketing and a Masters in MIS and is a certified Project Management Professional. Outside of work he loves to volunteer in the local schools and coaches soccer.
