Candidate for President Elect

 Michael Morgan

Statement of Candidacy

I am honored and humbled to be nominated to run for SASAA President.  When looking at my bio you may notice that I have been in financial aid a long time.  I was lucky enough to become involved in KASFAA and SASFAA very early in my career. That initial involvement at state level and at SASFAA New Aid Officer Workshop provided me the opportunity to list several activities and honors by my name.  At first glance, you may not notice the many faces of FAAs that made this list possible.  At first glance, you may not see the mentors who have provided words of encouragement and guidance along the way.  At first glance, you may not see the many colleagues who offered assistance when it was apparent that I needed help.  At first glance you may not see, my peers who noticed I was on the wrong track and set me on a better path nor the members of the associations who have allowed me to grow in this wonderful profession.

I would love to say that my experience best prepares me to lead this association.  My experience tells me SASFAA is led by its members guided by its rich heritage.  My experiences tells me SASFAA is essential to the growth of the profession and continued advocacy for our students.  My experience tells me SASFAA is more than an association, SASFAA is family.

Whether I am elected as president or not my commitment is the same.  To serve the members of SASFAA the best way I can.  The only difference will be what is listed by my name.  Thank you SASFAA, the board and President Spiers for your consideration.
