SASFAA Webinar - How the New Tax Code will Impact Financial Aid
Join us on Thursday, May 16th at 2:00pm.
Most of the changes to the tax code enacted in December, 2017, were implemented in the 2018 tax year. And financial aid officers will be seeing these changes first hand when they review aid application for the 2020-2021 academic year. This session will take a look at the changes that will most impact financial aid eligible families, and any guidance the Department of Education has issued related to these changes.
Topics covered will include the new Form 1040, the elimination of Forms 1040A and 1040EZ and its impact on a student’s eligibility for the simplified EFC or Auto Zero EFC formula, and how changes in the tax code may change students’ EFCs, ability to finance their education, and meet their financial obligations to their schools.
