The 2026 SASFAA New Aid Officers’ Workshop (NAOW) is a welcoming, hands‑on training experience for financial aid professionals in their first five years, helping them become comfortable with the laws, regulations, policies, and day‑to‑day practices of Federal Student Aid. The NAOW staff brings more than 20 years of financial aid experience and are all active in their schools, state, and region. Their insight and hands‑on expertise help participants build confidence and see financial aid from a fresh, practical perspective. Format of Workshop SASFAA New Aid Officer Workshop utilizes NASFAA Credentialing topics throughout the week. Participants will receive access to learning guides and handouts from NASFAA U as part of the cost of the workshop. Participants will also have the opportunity to earn credentials in certain subjects taught throughout the week at no additional cost. Training Facility The workshop will be held on the beautiful campus of Thomas More University in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Workshop participants will stay in Stallmeyer, Murphy, and Howard Halls on campus. Stallmeyer and Murphy are part of their virtual tour. Participants should plan to arrive no later than 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, for check-in and on-site registration, which will be available from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm that day. The opening session begins at 4:30 pm on Sunday, and the workshop concludes at 11:30 am on Friday, June 19, 2026. Early arrival is optional on Saturday, June 13, with check-in available from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please make travel arrangements to ensure you are present for the opening session on Sunday afternoon and all activities through Friday morning. Cost The registration fee for the workshop is $750, if registration is completed by May 8, 2026, and $800 if completed after May 8, 2026. Non-members must also pay the $35 membership fee. The registration fee includes all instructional materials, most meals, housing and your upcoming year SASFAA membership fee. Early arrivals - those participants arriving on Saturday, June 13, 2026, will be charged an additional $30 fee to cover the additional night's lodging. Housing Housing is provided in residence halls located on Thomas More University's campus. Basic furniture includes a bed, study desk, chair, and closet in the bedroom. Linens are available for purchase (one pillowcase, two sheets, one pillow, and one blanket) during registration. Participants will be housed in Stallmayer, Murphy, and Howard Residence Halls. Stallmeyer and Murphy are a part of the TMU virtual tour. All rooms are air-conditioned and wi-fi enabled. Each participant will receive a key to their suite/room - there is a $25 key replacement charge if a key is lost. |
