Beyond the Math: Navigating the Unique Complexities of Graduate and Professional Financial Aid
Description: Graduate and professional financial aid often appears straightforward to outsiders; after all, the calculations seem simpler with limited grant programs (no Pell or SEOG) and mostly loans to manage. But those in this space know that’s only a small part of the picture. Our work requires much more than number-crunching — we’re navigating a complex landscape of unique student needs and limited resources, often providing personalized support for students juggling marriage, childcare, elder care, and even post-graduation financial planning. This session will highlight the intricate responsibilities and challenges faced by graduate and professional financial aid administrators and explore our important role in supporting students through significant life and financial decisions. We will also dive into the realities of the One Bill Beautiful Bill, which significantly impacts this sector of our profession. We’ll discuss what we know right now about student loan eligibility and repayment. We will discuss what our campuses are doing to prepare for the changes that will take effect on July 1, 2026. We invite you to join us!
