Statement of Candidacy
It is with great honor and humility that I accept the nomination for SASFAA President Elect. I am dedicated to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this position. I believe my background and experiences have prepared me to take on this role. I have held many leadership positions in state, regional and national associations and seek to bring these experiences to the SASFAA President Elect role and beyond. It is often said that SASFAA is a family and I believe that is the case. We support each other and guide each other through the ever-changing landscape of rules and regulations that is the hallmark of what we do. If given the opportunity to lead this family, I will not take that responsibility lightly. I pledge my commitment to lead with honor, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support for all members of this family and by extension the students and families we serve. I am a strong advocate for training and professional development, my record speaks for itself. I am dedicated to SASFAA and its members; I am enthusiastic about our growth as an organization. I value every opportunity that comes my way, especially ones that allow me to make an impact on students’ lives. I have always worked in the education field where teaching/training/mentoring has been my passion. I welcome the opportunity to share this passion with the financial aid community in the SASFAA region. I gratefully accept this nomination and seek your support to fulfill our SASFAA Promise: “to promote the professional preparation of individuals within financial aid; to develop effective programs related to student financial aid; to facilitate communication between all interested parties within the financial aid community; and to continually evaluate and update our services.” |
